Yesterday Liverpool lost a Giant amongst men.

September 11, 2019

This time yesterday John Eastwood creator backbone and stallwart of YADA (Young Adults Disability Association) died after failing health over the last couple of years.

My sincere condolences to Buffy, his family and the too many to name people who worked with him in his vision. A quiet man of big vision, great hopes and success. A man who brought people together, who created an amazing (yet sometimes described as unsightly) recycle facility to our community. What may have appeared disheveled was a tight knit group of people who do a great deal to support each other and our community. Last week or so i reported that the Anderson Avenue facility was to close…I’ve not been successful in finding a new site however i do hope someone else has. This is more than a place to bring stuff, its been a source of support for many as they settled in a new land, for those struggling and for those doing it tough but its been even more thsn that its been a place to lend a hand, make new friends and of being of worth when you thought you had little left to give. Please someone see the vision (& tax breaks) and help YADA relocate and continue Johns dream.

Vale John Eastwood may you rest well and your vision continue for young and old.
