Signe Westerberg Headshots (60 of 102)A colleague called by yesterday and asked if I’d seen the news on Channel 10 about the Council … as always I cringe at the thought of our council making the news, for it is so rare that it is positive news and again they don’t disappoint!

While our illustrious mayor can’t usually get enough press and would pretty much go to the opening of an envelope if he were guaranteed a TV spot, seems silence was his best defence… This story is interesting considering it was he and his cohorts who created so IMAGE NED MANNOUNmuch angst and derision in the past council term and who were party to the resignation of our former General Manager through unforgivable circumstances and questioning his ability to run the council… my question was what now.?

Well it appears  due diligence may have been a little of an overstatement…. perhaps the governing body of council needs a bit of a shake up as the problems don’t stop with the council building but with the City Library as well… come on people we pay the replacement GM exceptionally well don’t we… isn’t this his purview?  There was so much promised by our Liberal Councillors at the last council election are they governing with a limp wrist or an iron rod? Isn’t  laughing at your colleagues (Labor) enough when they put forward changes or adjustments to motions in council meetings as you override them, do we have to be the laughing stock of the country as well?

I’ll leave this for you to decide…here’s the link.

Good luck on the Relay for Life this weekend. Sorry we can’t make it – busy painting doors – but we’ll wear our sweat shirts. 🙂
