…to the most tiring, exhilarating, exhausting, fun, emotional, entertaining and inspirational event s of the year, tomorrow commencing at 10am at Hillier’s Oval here in Liverpool is the 24hr relay for life for the cancer council. The preparations are nearly done, the amazing Relay committee will do their final shop for fresh produce, an awesome list of prizes will be ready, raffle tickets will be sold, and the stage & tents will soon be erected.
This amazing event is open to the public, actually we not only invite you to attend we simply implore you to join us… bring the family, wear your joggers, bring some $ to purchase some amazing food, jump on the jumping castle, shop at the many stalls or simply share a coffee with us. Over 200 people in over 17 teams will come together; walk, talk, share and care for a cure for cancer, to support our loved ones and take some time to remember those we’ve lost while knowing a cure is just around the corner and the dollars we raise will help.
I am so inspired by the selfless unrelenting commitment of those who have worked for months and months to make this event a success.
I will be there the whole 24 (usually more like 30) hours along with the amazing committee members, inspirational teams and of course the hundreds and hundreds of casual visitors who pop b y. Come up and say hi, listen to some fabulous entertainers, buy a cup of soup , a raffle ticket…or help us choose our Miss Relay winner (a sight to behold 😉 I’ve attached a program for you to have a look at here, it’s not 100% complete and some small changes will be made, but you get the gist. (A BIG Thank you to all those who have sponsored the event in any way… you too are awesome)
This is an awesome way to finish what has been a very busy week, community /meetings every night a full work schedule. I’m so looking forward to catching up with many of you over the weekend.
