Have you lost someone you care about to cancer?

Most of us have been touched in some way by this insidious disease… if the answer to my question is yes, for the first time at this coming weekends relay for life we will be having a slide show presentation to remember those we’ve loved and lost.

If you have someone you’d like included… please email me their picture and their name and we will include them in the slide show to be shown at this year’s relay for life at dusk. (there is no cost involved  just the time it takes to email me the picture and I need to have it before Wednesday this week)

Some of my friends and acquaintances will be coming up to walk with us just prior to the slide show and making this a family time to come together and remember.

While much of the relay focuses on support of sufferers and carers and fighting cancer, at dusk we have our candle ceremony, a pretty moving and lovely event and a chance to care with each other for each other.  The slide show will allow us a few minute together to remember, to show each other support and in some small way publicly acknowledge our loss and the contributions our loved ones made.

Whether sunny, windy or raining the event will proceed this year (as it did last year) however if it happens that council closes the grounds we will have an indoor venue available, albeit a shorter program, we will still come together for our 2012 Liverpool Relay for life.

Watch my posts for any venue changes.. but as it stands at the moment we will be at Hillier’s Oval between 10am Saturday and 10am Sunday….walking, talking and raising much needed funds to support the Cancer council.
